CORRECTION! I truly apologize for having to send out another notification so shortly after the last, but I made a huge mistake!
Here is the corrected dates for MAY of this week.... not JUNE!
THIS Thursday MAY 30: 8th grade graduation is this Thursday, MAY 30! In order to prepare for that, school is going to get out at 12:15 that day.
After school care will start at 12:30 on that day and go until 5:45.
THIS Friday MAY 31: This is a required school day and we are inviting our school families to attend the day with us! We will have lots of fun and games from a water fight, tug-of-war, a high school vs. staff basketball game, as well as snow cones and an all school and family BBQ! Please join us for all the fun and games! The day will end at 12:15, and there will be NO after school care on this day.

UJA Parents,
At drop off this morning you will see some extra cars and school buses. One of our sister schools, Milo Adventist Academy in Oregon had a bus breakdown while heading back north on their music tour. They stayed last night in our gym and may be on campus much of the day today while the bus is being repaired. They are a great group of high schoolers making the best of things.

UJA Parents,
We want a new outdoor concrete basketball court in place by the beginning of next year. Phase 1 entails breaking up and hauling away the old concrete and basketball standards. I wonder if some of our UJA families have any of the equipment and knowledge needed to get this done on a Sunday sometime soon. Please get in touch with me if this sounds like something you would be willing to help with.
Thank you and God bless,
Rick Nelson

UJA Parents,
Last Tuesday evening we interviewed Jennifer Rich for our open teaching position and the board voted to offer her the position. She was also offered a similar position at Lodi Adventist Elementary. She informed me this morning that she had accepted the position at Lodi. The search goes on. Please pray that we find the right person for our little school. We will keep you up to date as we continue looking.
God bless,
Rick Nelson

UJA Parents,
As you pick up your darlings this afternoon, please look over the 50+ items on display in the parking lot. So many lonely items anxious to return home! Please help them do that!
Rick Nelson

For Next Year’s Grades 5/6/7/8, the deadline is coming up this next week to let us know if your child will be returning!!
We have a list of future new parents who are waiting to hear if their child can attend UJA, and we will be calling them in the beginning of May to let them know if there is room.
Please remember to let us know if your child will be returning or moving on to another school by next Tuesday, April 30. Otherwise we will start accepting new students in to these grades.

All this week I will be backpacking with our grades 9-10 students, along with Mr. Kuntz. I will miss seeing you all at the morning drop off and afternoon pickup, but do not fear, I will return. The next week, on Tuesday evening at 7PM in the library, we will be interviewing a potential homeroom teacher for our grades 7-8 classroom. All are invited to observe and comment when the candidate is dismissed. I will have more details for you next week.
God bless,
Rick Nelson

Dear UJA Family,
I apologize, I forgot to add the hot lunch menu in this week.
We ARE having hot lunch and it will be spaghetti, garlic bread, a salad, and a drink.
Enjoy!
