Hi 4th Grade Parents!
Our Rock-N-Water trip is around the corner coming up April 22-23! We are registered and I am hoping that each student can go on the trip. As a reminder the trip is $318 per family (student and parent). You can bring your payment to me or the office. If you would rather pay with a card please do so on the school account. Another note, if you do not pay beforehand Heidi Veness has set up the financial billing for us through your school account. The billing will go out in Facts on April 27 to all participants who went on Rock-N-Water. The Due Date will be May 27 this means if you have autopay set up, it will charge your card on May 27 with the full amount for the trip. If you and your child need financial assistance don't hesitate to reach out to me. I want every student to be able to come on this awesome trip! Please plan to come, as this is a class trip.
ALL overnight guests: parents, students, and chaperones have to register with the camp through the link provided below. I need each of you to sign up and fill out the release forms no later than April 13. I can keep an eye on who has completed this form and will be directly contacting those who haven’t as we get closer. It will probably take you 10-15 minutes to fill out that will give you prompts in order to give the camp important information in case of any emergencies.
The students and I have been talking about and looking forward to this trip! Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have. The trip we will be on is called The Mother Load through Rock-n-Water Camp.

Saturday, March 7, is a special day for our school and our local Adventist Community. We call it Education Day (formerly Education Sabbath). Over $300,000 each year is contributed to UJA from members of our local Adventist church, which helps make UJA an excellent available Christian school option for our community. These funds keep tuition reasonable as well as help fund our tuition assistance program. Our members simply love to see the students up front singing. This year we intentionally planned for Education Day to come after local youth league basketball games are completed and before meaningful games have started in baseball/softball. It is our hope that as many of our families as possible could plan on attending this special event at our church. Mrs. Rice has asked for grades 5-10 student to arrive to warm up at 10:15, and K-4 students to arrive at 10:30. The program will begin at 11:00, be done by 12:00, and will include music by all our students and a short talk by me. Thank you so much for honoring us with your presence on March 7.

Parents, hopefully your child has been telling you about the experiment they want to perform for Learning Fair (March 19). Experiments should be completed by March 10 so we have time to finish our Science Boards.
We are doing the science boards in class but the experiments are done at home. Students will need to take photos of their experiment for the board. The should email them to their school account and we can print them here at school.
If I have equipment or materials that are needed for the experiments I am happy to lend them out but I know I do not have materials for every student.
The students brain stormed experiments for some real life issues that they might deal with so hopefully this has them interested in their science experiment.
Please reach out with any questions about Learning Fair. This is a school wide activity. Presenting the experiment to people that walk past is part of their grade. It is something that we can not easily duplicate in the classroom, so students need to make every effort to by there March 19 6:20-8pm.
Feel free to contact me with any questions regarding Learning Fair.
Thank you,
Mr. Kuntz

The UJA basketball season has drawn to a close. We were looking to line up one more game but with the ski trip and bugs going around the last two weeks it has been difficult to schedule practices.
Please hold on to the uniforms for another week or so until we can line up team photographs. At that point uniforms will be collected.
As tradition, the last day of school there will be a staff verses student basketball game in which all teams get to play.
Thank you so much for the support at home and away games.
Mr. Kuntz

As we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, I want to make you aware of some changes in teacher roles and classroom configurations for next school year. Mrs. Kablanow is stepping away from teaching at the close of this school year. She is expecting her 2nd child in August and plans to stay home with her little ones. This changes some teacher assignments and a classroom configuration. Mr. Oliver will move to 3rd and 4th grade while Mrs. Nelson will have a combined classroom with grades 1-2. Mrs. Nelson will have an aide in that classroom. All other teacher assignments will remain the same. We will certainly miss Mrs. Kablanow’s dedication and commitment to loving and teaching her students, and we remain committed to providing a quality Christian education for all our students. We are honored with your trust in us as we continue to serve our community by providing a quality education for children here in the Ukiah valley.
God bless,
Rick Nelson

Hi everyone,
(This is a lengthy email with The information you are wanting.)

Attached is the full schedule and valuable information for the 2026 Middle School Basketball Tournament at Rio Lindo.

Our electronic entrance gate will be open most of the day Sunday & Monday. When it is closed it requires a gate code to open. The gate code for guests during the tournament will be 2691 can be entered on the call box at the gate.
When you arrive on campus, please drive directly to the gym. There will be signage to help direct drivers to our gym if they have not been to Rio before. Also, attached is an RLAA campus map if you’d like to share it with any parents who will be visiting Rio for the first time. Please check in with Nick Sigler at the info booth in the gym when your school arrives.
GAME INFO
Please be sure your whole team has arrived at the gym 45 minutes ahead of your game. This will give your team time to change, use the restroom, fill up water bottles, etc. You can access restrooms from inside the gym or through exterior doors on the west side of the gym (field side). There are locker rooms for changing and showers inside each restroom. The breaks between games are only 10 minutes, so your team needs to be in the gym and ready to warm up as soon as the game before yours ends. It’s a very tight schedule to fit in all the games, so PLEASE be sure your team is ready on time to help us stay on schedule.
