7th and 8th Grade STEM Camp at Rio, "Spy Academy "! Rio Lindo Academy is hosting a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math(STEM) Camp November 10 and 11. We would leave about 9:30 on Monday and be back by 2pm on Tuesday. It is an overnight camp. The cost for the camp is $35 and the food, lodging, and t-shirt are included. A flier went home with the students today.
We will be creating a laser maze, making our own invisible ink, learning how to cipher for secret messages, and building an LED magnetic tracker.
Mr. Kuntz will be going and teaching assisting with the laser maze.
We could use one or two more chaperones/drivers.

In case your child didn’t bring the grapevine home yesterday, 5th and 6th grade are going on a science field trip to Point Reyes. We do need a few drivers for this trip. Attached is the flier that went home with the grapevine.

We are so excited for next Sunday’s big Fall Festival event! We are working on our plans and still in BIG need for volunteers. Last 2 weeks we have attached sign-up forms to the Grapevines and you can find them in your emails as well. We have 17 families who have signed up and 64 who we have not heard from yet. With at least 30 persons needed each hour, that makes 120 spots to fill. Please return those volunteer forms ASAP so the schedule can be completed. Thank you for supporting this wonderful fundraising event!

Hello school family! I just finished sending school portraits to everyone whose child was here for portrait day. If your child was here, and you did NOT receive a portrait, check your junk folder, and if nothing is there, please let me know.
Retake day will be THIS MONDAY, October 6!! So if you would like retakes, no worries, just notify your teacher so that they can make sure they participate in that.

Tomorrow morning we will load up. Plan on arriving to the school by 9:45 to load the vehicles. Remember a sack lunch for tomorrow. **There is forecasted a chance of rain Tuesday night** A poncho might be something to throw in. The good news is that we will be leaving Wednesday morning. Lows overnight of 50 and highs in the low 80s to mid 70s.
If possible pack in duffle (soft sided bags) it is easier to pack. Pillow and sleeping bag can be separate.
Chaperones and drivers. I just got the last phone number I was missing. I will put a group text together.
Drivers please have gas tanks full and if possible be at the school at 9:30 to assess the packing availability of each car and truck.

Just to clarify, Parent Orientation will not be this Sunday, Aug. 3, but Sunday, Aug. 17 at 6:30 PM. Enjoy the rest of your summer with your children!
We have a large supply of laundered, previously owned uniform shirts and jackets. We would love to give them away, so come by the school office and take as many as you need. Summer office hours are 8:30 AM -1:00 PM. Also, please note that Parent Orientation will take place on Sunday evening, beginning at 6:30 PM.
Congrats 8th grade graduating class of 2025! We are so excited for tonight!
UJA Grades 6-9 Parents,
Tomorrow afternoon, our new Grades 7-8 Homeroom teacher will be on campus to meet with staff and students. Mrs. Krystalynn Westbrook-Martin will be available to chat briefly after school at pick-up if you would like to. Mrs. Westbrook Martin will take over English instruction and Yearbook class for Grades 9-10 next year.
UJA Parents,
Welcome to the last week of school! Here is some information about this week.
- Tuesday and Wednesday will be normal days (but not hot lunch on Wednesday)..
- Thursday will be an early dismissal day (12:15) with after-school care available starting at 12:30. The 8th-grade graduation will take place in the school courtyard at 6:30.
- Friday is the last day of school. We will have a chapel to start the day, followed by some staff vs. student basketball. The remainder of the day will take place outside on the playground and on the field with games, activities, and a water fight. We will again have Sugar Mama Hawaiian Shave Ice for everyone. Lunch will be served at 11:00 by our fantastic parent volunteers. Parents are welcome to join the fun and share a meal with us all. Dismissal will be at 12:15 with pick-up on the playground (I will not be calling rides down to the parking lot). There will be no after-school care on the last day of school.
Thank you again for a wonderful year, and the honor and privilege we have had teaching your children.
